Prepare the web-extraction project
Define the source websites and permitted purpose.
- Create a project for one business purpose or research scope.
- List the public websites you are authorized to scan.
- Check source terms, privacy obligations, and technical restrictions.
- Exclude authenticated, personal, sensitive, or unrelated areas.
- Choose a secure local destination for the reviewed output.
Add source URLs
Use complete, focused starting addresses.
- Choose Add URLs and enter one public website per line.
- Use the preferred HTTPS address when available.
- Remove duplicate, malformed, or redirected entries.
- Set whether the utility may follow internal links.
- Limit crawl depth and pages to what the task requires.
Set crawl and email filters
Reduce noise before scanning a large website set.
- Add include keywords when only certain pages are relevant.
- Exclude paths such as login, cart, account, or unrelated archives.
- Set allowed domains and prevent unintended external crawling.
- Add unwanted address or domain rules.
- Enable duplicate removal for a unique result.
Run the website scan
Respect errors, rate limits, and blocked pages.
- Start with a small group of URLs.
- Monitor pages visited, addresses found, duplicates, and failures.
- Pause when a site returns repeated errors or rate limiting.
- Do not bypass CAPTCHAs, authentication, robots controls, or access restrictions.
- Save the project after the permitted scan completes.
Review source and export
Confirm each useful record before it leaves the project.
- Review the email address together with its source URL.
- Remove placeholders, examples, malformed strings, personal addresses, and irrelevant records.
- Check whether the address is current and suitable for the business purpose.
- Export the reviewed list to the required local format.
- Open the file and verify count, encoding, and source columns.
Apply responsible outreach rules
Public availability does not remove privacy or communication obligations.
- Document the lawful basis for retaining and using each category of contact.
- Keep data collection proportionate to the stated purpose.
- Do not send unsolicited, deceptive, or prohibited communication.
- Include sender identity and opt-out controls where required.
- Honor objections, suppression, and retention limits.
Troubleshooting notes
Common questions that can save a support request.
Why did a website return no addresses?
The site may contain no visible addresses, render content dynamically, block automated access, or place the information outside the configured scope.
Why was a page skipped?
It may be outside the allowed domain, excluded by filters, unavailable, rate limited, authenticated, or blocked from automated access.
